Why You Should Donate To Little Herds

Do You Share These Beliefs?

Ask yourself if you believe in any of the following:

  1. Leaving the world a better place than you got it.
  2. Diverse, sustainable, and affordable sources of nutrition.
  3. Challenging convention.
  4. Spending Bill Gates' money to support any of the above.

If so, read on. This is for you.

Don't Get Stomped

Recently, a new industry has emerged that shares these beliefs. It is challenging the Western food system by introducing sustainable and nutritious food and feed products made with insects.

To get the West to embrace insects is an ambitious goal. And it's made all the more difficult by the fact that the companies in the industry, including us at Heilu, are tiny. We're the ants of the food and feed industry.

And you know what happens to ants when they venture out on their own?

They get stomped.

Brave... but stupid.

Brave... but stupid.

Sure one or two lone ants might get lucky, stumble upon some discarded chocolate bar, and live a short life of gluttonous ecstasy. But most will wander around hopelessly before meeting a painful demise. And certainly none will make any noticeable mark on the world.

Only by working together can us ants become a formidable force.

Luckily, we have an ant wrangler.

That'll improve the odds.

That'll improve the odds.

Meet The Ant Wrangler

Robert Nathan Allen is our "Ant Wrangler". His charity, Little Herds, unites us insect food and feed businesses and gets us all working towards a unified mission to promote insects as an environmentally sound and economically viable source of nutrition.

He's been at it since the industry's early days in 2012, presenting to schools, attending and organizing conferences, forging connections between businesses, and speaking out through mass media. Thanks to Little Herds, the insect as food and feed industry is making an ever-expanding mark on the food industry.

And we still haven't gotten stomped.

Robert Nathan Allen also wrangles ladybugs.
